Lake Yard Wedding – Justine & Jamie

This Lake Yard wedding all started on a beautiful summer’s morning. Justine and her bridesmaids prepared for the wedding at the very cool Hotel DuVin in Poole Quay, Jamie and family were at the Haven in Sandbanks. The wedding ceremony took place at the very pretty Poole Guildhall. Afterwards we headed down to the quay by foot to travel by boat over to the Lake Yard Club in Hamworthy. Justine and Jamie took the VIP speedboat to the reception venue which gave them time to greet their pet dogs and enjoy some time together. I loved the thought that had gone into this wedding, the the nautical themed bridesmaids dresses and wedding cake were very different from what I usually see. Every guest had their own stick of rock with Justine and Jamie’s name going through the middle as well as personalised flags. Their name was on one side and on the other was a little bit of info about them. A really nice touch and a great ice breaker (not that they needed it) as tables were passing around flags and reading each others.

This lovely couple didn’t really like the camera pointed at them (just like me) but they were absolutely brilliant to work with and I can’t wait to photograph another Lake Yard wedding. The whole day was perfect for this photographer who loves nothing more than being by the water (even though I don’t swim and and am not a big fan of boats, haha). A big thank you to Brighton based photographer Lel Hurst for second shooting with me on the day. BTW, I’m trying hard to write more on my blog posts but my writing skills are very similar to my swimming skills and I feel like I’m cramping up, running out of breath and screaming for help.
