Becky & Tyler’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at West Wittering Beach, West Sussex

When Becky and Tyler suggested West Wittering beach for their pre-wedding portrait session, I couldn’t have been more excited. This stunning stretch of coastline, just outside Chichester in West Sussex and close to the Hampshire border, had somehow escaped me, despite photographing across the South Coast for years. Safe to say, it didn’t disappoint.

From the moment we arrived, I was completely taken with the wide, open beach, rustic dunes, and rows of colourful beach huts. The early evening light was soft and golden, perfect for natural, romantic portraits. We had space to roam, time to explore, and the freedom to make the most of every changing moment of light. I love photographing on the coast in any season, but this session hit the sweet spot.

Becky and Tyler were completely at ease in front of the camera, and we moved between locations effortlessly. The shoot had a relaxed, joyful energy that made it one of my favourites to date. As the sun dipped lower, it just kept getting better—we could easily have carried on shooting until nightfall.

After Becky and Tyler left to head home, my partner and I stayed a little longer to watch the sun set over the water. It was peaceful, golden, and just magical. We both fell in love with West Wittering that evening and have been back many times since.

This session marked a bit of a turning point. It sparked the beginning of a deeper connection to this part of the world and inspired us to look into relocating to West Sussex. And all thanks to Becky and Tyler, who introduced me to a place that’s regularly voted one of the best beaches in the UK.
