Wedding at New Barn Farm, Calbourne
Being an Isle of Wight wedding photographer has always been a personal dream of mine. I have always felt a strong connection with the Island and have been visiting since a child for day trips with my parents, as a teenager with friends, and as an adult with my own family.
I first met Alice & Martin many moons ago when Jonathan (Alice’s brother) married Heather at The Arthouse Gallery in Southampton. I was so pleased and honoured when they contacted me to see if I was available to photograph their wedding on the Isle of Wight at New Barn Farm, Calbourne. Martin is also a wedding photographer and even took one of the images here, the beautiful landscape shot of Alice against the cliff face.
The wedding day started in Cowes at Alice’s parents’ home, followed by a lovely ceremony at St Mary’s church in West Cowes. After the church, guests headed to the wedding reception at New Barn Farm in Calbourne whilst I drove Alice & Martin down to Compton Bay. It’s not only a beautiful location, it’s also a spot that Alice & Martin enjoyed. After the speeches and outdoor games, we headed inside for the evening entertainment with old school friends the Plastic Mermaids who had traveled across the country after playing festivals to get to the wedding as guests and performing as the band. I loved being part of this wedding. Alice & Martin were completely at ease and enjoyed every single moment of the day as did their guests, especially T-rex.
